19:38:20 De Vegan Option Canada : Is that the precept of prevention in case of unknown variables?
19:38:39 De Oscar Horta : Thanks Manu! I have an objection. At Animal Ethics we don’t claim that the behavior of a being is relevant for inferring that such being is sentience because it’s like ours, but because it is of a certain complexity and type that suggests the being is sentient (as in the case of the octopus). Also, the physiology doesn’t need to be like ours for suggesting sentience, but be complex enough to process information in a complex way.
19:39:16 De Oscar Horta : (among other criteria).
19:40:27 De Sorin – Vegan Option Canada : aussi on the vois en ce moment
19:40:34 De Sorin – Vegan Option Canada : probablement sur le live fb
19:41:48 De Vegan Option Canada : Is it true that plants are not sentient and as a proof they can’t move around fast (react to a threat)? And what to say about carnivor plants that can move and even digest, do they still don’t feel pain ?
19:47:32 De Silvère : Are there degrees of sentience or graduality in sentience ? And if there is, how could we compare/quantify sentience ? And what would it imply morally speaking ?
19:48:11 De Alyssa – Vegan Option Canada : can some beings be only sentient while feeling , let’s say only positive emotions or only negative ones or does sentience automatically imply the possibility of both (positive and negative experience)?
19:53:50 De Sorin – Vegan Option Canada : Notre prochiane conference dans 7 minutes: L’activiste-stratège : lutter efficacement – Laura Le Brasseur
19:54:14 De Peter (he/him) : Thanks everybody 😀
